Melnichenkoone of the richest men in Russia, founder of the MDB bank and with investments in the petrochemical sector, appears on the list of oligarchs to be sanctioned by the European Union (EU), reported the British network BBC.
Last week the Italian government announced that it had frozen assets of russian billionaires in the country worth 140 million euros, including several yachts that were seized.
One of the most important so far was the yacht “Lady M”which has a value of 65 million euros, belonging to alexey mordashovalso close to Putin.
A second luxury boat was also requisitioned, the “lena”from the billionaire founder of Gunvor (commodity trading company), Gennady Timchenkoand which has a value of about 50 million euros.
As for real estate, a property worth about 17 million euros of the Russian billionaire was seized Alisher Usmanov.
Real estate properties of two personalities close to the Russian power and valued at about 11 million euros were also confiscated, according to the Italian government.
More than 500 Russian individuals or entities were targeted by European sanctions. The States of Europe seize their assets and economic resources as they locate them and manage to link them to their owners.
