Born on December 11, 1960 in Linz, Pühringer completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter and worked for voestalpine from 1979. He was politically active in the Linz FPÖ, including as local party chairman in the Bindermichl/Keferfeld district and as deputy FPÖ district party chairman in Linz.
Manfred “Mandi” Pühringer was also state chairman of the Freedom Workers and Chamber of Labor Council. From 2009 he was a member of the board of the Chamber of Labour, was active as a works council member in the voestalpine heavy plate department and was also a member of the PRO-GE union (production union). Since November 12, 2009, Pühringer has been a member of the municipal council in Linz. His areas of work included the transport committee, the committee for social affairs, youth, family and sport as well as his function on the personnel advisory board. “With Manfred Pühringer, we are losing a committed local and social politician, for whom the interests of the people of Linz and workers always came first,” says District Chairman Michael Raml.
