The spirit of optimism is clearly noticeable: after a two-year Corona break, the Linz Auto Spring opens again – on March 19th and 20th. Namely the 50th edition. Then almost 200 new cars will be shown in the Linz Design Center – from the VW Taigo to the BMW iX, from the classic combustion engine to the latest electric vehicle. Speaking of electric: almost half of the cars on display have an electrified drive. 40 purely electric and 52 mild hybrid, hybrid and plug-in hybrid models will be on display under the glass dome roof. The Autofrühling team is expecting a real run on electric vehicles. Because the currently extremely high petrol prices make many interested parties think about alternatives. “You have to distinguish between private and business,” says Autofrühling spokesman Ernest Wipplinger. “Companies see the choice between electric and combustion engine as a purely tax-related question: what is cheaper?” On the other hand, private buyers are concerned with whether e-mobility can cover all their needs.
At its own stand, Linz AG will provide information on how to install a wall box at home. Which charging power makes sense? What must a wallbox be able to do? How much does a kilowatt hour cost?
The OÖN have come up with something special for the anniversary car spring and are not only giving away 10 times 2 balloon rides in the Design Center, but also a Toyota Yaris Hybrid.
The 50th Auto Spring opens on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission prices: adults 10 euros, adults reduced 8 euros, families 20 euros, families reduced 16 euros, children (up to 15 years) 2 euros, disabled people 8 euros. Reduced admission is available with the OÖNcard, ARBÖ and ÖAMTC vouchers and the 4youCard. Wearing a mask is recommended during Auto Spring visit.
