“Cryptocurrencies play a significant role in the defense of Ukraine,” Oleksandre Borniakov, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, said in a statement.
“Cryptocurrency assets have proven extremely valuable in facilitating the flow of funds to Ukrainian citizens and soldiers and in creating awareness and interest among the global public,” he added, quoted by the AFP news agency.
The Everstake company, one of the largest in Ukraine, will allow users to make donations in other cryptocurrencies in addition to those listed on the website.
Ukrainian cryptocurrency exchange Kuna is also part of the initiative.
On the site “Aid for Ukraine”, this morning (Ukrainian time) almost 49 million dollars had already been raised out of a total goal of 200 million dollars.
This money will be used to support the Ukrainian army and civilians “in dire need of humanitarian assistance,” the alliance said in a statement.
