“Planet Romeo” is the name of the dating platform for homosexuals, which brought together the alleged perpetrator (27) and his victim (31).
The 31-year-old testified in court that he had been written to. Sexual acts for money. But in October 2021, it was not a Romeo who appeared on the victim’s doorstep, but three men. It is said to be the two brothers of the accused 27-year-old, who are being searched for, said public prosecutor Reinhard Steiner.
“I didn’t want to let them in at first, they persuaded me.” Inside, things quickly got down to business. One of the men grabbed the iPhone because he allegedly needed to make an urgent call. The victim tried to get his mobile phone back. Suddenly, the 27-year-old Romanian is said to have grabbed the open jackknife that was lying on the glass table in the living room. It was sharp and pointed and 20 centimeters long, the victim recalls.
“If you participate, nothing will happen to you,” the 31-year-old was threatened. Because the trio wanted to get the PIN code of the ATM card. The victim then called a combination of numbers that obviously could not be correct. “It’s not a joke,” countered the accused and is said to have put the knife to the neck of the man who was attacked. The alleged accomplices searched the apartment in the meantime. They are said to have stolen the iPhone and 300 euros in cash. “I was afraid, I thought for a moment that I was going to die,” the victim described the wild scenes in court.
“If you go to the police, something will happen to you,” the perpetrators threatened with a cutthroat gesture before they left the apartment, got into a black BMW and disappeared.
The man who had just been attacked initially made no attempt to alert the executive. The whole thing was “extremely embarrassing” for him. “I’ve also lived in Berlin, but nothing like this has ever happened to me before.” The man only called the police the next day.
As the investigation revealed, the trio is said to have haunted another man. Several valuables were stolen from the 54-year-old while sexual activity was taking place. The damage was more than 1000 euros.
The Romanian denied all allegations, but got caught up in contradictions. The jury sentenced the 27-year-old, who had previously been convicted, to six years in prison. The judgment is not final.
