“The people of Linz have had to wait for seating furniture in public spaces for almost five years. It’s time for the project to be implemented,” says Tomislav Pilipovic (Greens) and announces a corresponding request in the municipal council on Thursday.
As a reminder: In April 2017, following a motion by the Greens, it was decided to install more seating in public areas. In September 2021, the winner of an ideas competition with the art university was presented. That was just before the council election. “But nothing has happened since then,” criticizes Pilipovic. It is high time to implement the designs in order to create additional quality of life for people.
The green youth spokesman therefore wants to know the current status of SP Mayor Klaus Luger – “and whether an implementation is planned at all”. After all, the furniture would be in demand in the coming weeks when it gets warmer. “We want to make sure that not another summer goes by without additional seating on the streets and squares of Linz.”
