It’s different this time. “We depend on the children as participants and visitors, and since Easter Tuesday is no longer a vacation day, we would miss the many children. That’s why we decided to move the Rieder horse market to the Easter vacation – to the Wednesday before Easter , on April 13,” says Stefan Schmid, deputy chairman of the Horse Market Committee and co-organizer of the event for years. This date should become a fixed date in the future, as Stefan Schmid explains. Because the children and young people should have the opportunity to visit the market or to take part in it. The new date would have been planned for 2020, but the market could not take place in recent years due to corona. “Now we’re very happy that it’s starting again. The preparations are largely complete,” says Schmid.
On April 13, the lift will begin at 9 a.m. at the lower main square (until around 11:30 a.m.); at 1.30 p.m. the big procession starts from the exhibition center to the lower main square, where the blessing of the horses and the distribution of prizes will also take place.
