Pöcheim becomes the state’s new construction director

The 43-year-old project manager is currently the regional manager of Asfinag in Upper Austria. In the objectification process, he prevailed as the best candidate out of four applicants.

Pöcheim succeeds Günther Knötig, who is retiring at the end of June 2022, as state construction director. Governor Thomas Stelzer (VP) thanked Knötig for his many years of service. In recent years, a “trend reversal towards public transport has been initiated” in Upper Austria. This will be consistently pursued under Martin Pöcheim. “At the same time, important road construction projects are pending.” With Pöcheim, an “experienced construction professional” will become the state’s construction director.

Martin Pöcheim lives in Sankt Georgen an der Gusen, is married and has two children. After graduating from the BRG Fadingerstraße Linz, he completed his studies in regional and spatial planning at the Vienna University of Technology.
