Total triumph for the people of the Innviertel

What a start! The WKG Innviertel Lochen/Ranshofen prevailed surprisingly clearly against AKH Vösendorf at the start of the Bundesliga with 3:0. In addition, newcomer Sarah Fischer set an Austrian record. Team colleague Lena Raidel was responsible for an Upper Austrian record.

The Ing. Peter Schnabl Halle in Lochen turned into a madhouse on Saturday. In front of a home audience and guests of honor, the Innviertler won against the title contender from Vösendorf. Although Stefan and Mario Secka were missing from the Lower Austrians due to a Covid infection, it would have been difficult with the two of them that day to conquer the Innviertler, who were pushed to their performance limits by the outstanding audience. Because in the end, the WKG Innviertel prevailed with a sovereign lead of 127 points.

Fischer was the best on points

Outstanding in the Innviertler team was the 21-year-old Olympic participant Sarah Fischer, who set three Austrian records in the general class and the U23 class. With her new records of 130 and 133 kilograms in clean and jerk and 236 kilograms in a duel, she was also the best on points (387.31). Lena Raidel, the 17-year-old from Strasswalchner, set a total of six new national records in the U20 and U23 age groups with a body weight of only 65.3 kilograms in the weight class up to 71 kilograms. With 76 and 80 kilograms in the snatch, 91 and 96 kilograms in the clean and jerk and 171 kg and 176 kilograms in a duel, she was only four kilograms short of the limit for participation in the U20 European Championships, which were held in Tirana (Albania) in October this year ) will be held.

Florian Reisecker made six valid attempts on the platform. In the end, the record of the competition was 140 kilograms in the snatch and 170 kilograms in the clean and jerk. Because the man from Braunau has honed his technique and has big plans for 2022, one can certainly expect even higher loads from the 29-year-old this year.

This time, elementary school teacher Christiane Schröcker not only quarreled with her “martial”. The 71 kilograms in the snatch were invalidated because of pushing and the attempt at 92 kilograms in the clean and jerk was also invalidated by the judges because of double turnover. Nevertheless, the 40-year-old, who only weighed 57.5 kilograms, showed 158 kilograms in the duel an impeccable performance. Patrick Dürnberger (28) came close to his self-imposed goal of 322 kilograms in a duel. In the end he was five short, but the impact performance of 180 kilograms was great.

“It was a great competition for all athletes. Our idea of requesting a record arbitration board from the association was spot on. This means that the new records set by Sarah Fischer and Lena Raidel are also valid,” says Rudi Kobler, chairman of the Union Lochen, about the performance of his team and his gut feeling. In the next Bundesliga round (Saturday, April 23rd), WKG Innviertel Lochen/Ranshofen will play away at WKG Bad Häring/Rum.

Clear victory for “team of three”

In the regional league, WKG Innviertel III celebrated a clear 5-0 victory against WKG Kraftwerk Salzburg (1348.34 to 1121.03 points). With 290.14 points, Maximilian Moldaschl was the best lifter in the Innviertel region. There were also many victories for the Innviertler in the first round of the Upper Austria Junior Cup. Responsible for this were Patrick Maderegger (U9), Doris Schober (U11), Juliane Maderegger and Jonas Leikermoser (both U13) as well as Helena Maderegger and Florian Leikermoser (both U15).

Next Saturday, March 19, at 6 p.m., the national league starts in the Auwiesen sports park with the Upper Austria derby SK Vöest Linz II against WKG Innviertel Lochen/Ranshofen.
