On Wednesday morning, fire broke out in a wagon for the third time in four days. The ÖBB are clearly assuming external debt, as spokesman Bernhard Rieder said. The police are investigating in all directions.
Fire broke out on a train from Zurich to Vienna early Monday morning. According to Rieder, an employee discovered it, began to extinguish it himself and sounded the alarm. The train had just pulled into Wels at this point. He stopped there, the passengers were taken to safety and the fire brigade put out the rest of the fire. According to Rieder, nobody was injured.
There had already been similar incidents in Gunskirchen and Vöcklabruck on Sunday morning and Monday morning. In the case of the fire in Gunskirchen, the investigators assume that the flames emanated from a towel dispenser. Details of the other fires were not officially known, but they are said to have been very similar incidents.
