At 7.30 p.m. the sirens wailed in the Herzogsdorf area. A fire broke out in a warehouse in the village of Freilassing. When the first emergency services arrived, the hall and tractors were fully engulfed in flames. A total of 14 fire departments were alerted. They were able to prevent the flames from spreading to surrounding buildings, reported Operations Manager Florian Erlinger.
In some cases, hose lines several hundred meters long had to be laid. In this way, extinguishing water could be pumped from the surrounding ponds to the hall. There was also support from surrounding farmers, who brought additional water from the ponds to the scene of the fire with their liquid manure barrels.
