Fancy a car: Austria’s largest show opens

Spring is coming – the car spring. Namely the anniversary edition, because Austria’s most traditional and this year also largest car show opens its doors for the 50th time. On Saturday and Sunday almost 200 new cars will be exhibited in the Linz Design Center.

“Everything is going according to plan,” says the President of Auto Spring, Michael Schmidt. “For the first time we have a uniform facility, but the walls and the carpet look classy.” The exhibitors have been busy with the structures since the middle of the week. “After two years, the joy of the car spring is huge,” says Schmidt. “The interest is enormous. People are even calling from Germany who want to come to Linz at the weekend.”

In any case, the Auto Spring visitors get to see a lot. 200 new cars invite you to try them out – including those from the VW Group, which initially canceled but then accepted. This means that the brands VW, Skoda, Seat including Cupra and Audi are also on board in the Design Center.

The ARBÖ and the ÖAMTC are also available to advise visitors, as is Linz AG in matters of e-mobility. Almost half of the new cars shown are pure electric vehicles or have electrified drives.

At the OÖN stand, a Toyota Aygo Hybrid will be raffled off as the main prize in the big car spring competition.

Wearing an FFP2 mask is not mandatory, but it is recommended.
