Applications for the 29th edition of the Pegasus Business Prize are pouring in. The largest and most successful prize in the state is organized by the OÖN together with the Chamber of Commerce, the state and the Raiffeisen Landesbank and the Federation of Austrian Industry and KPMG. This year everything is characterized by future-oriented innovations that make the business location attractive.
Among the contenders so far: Gallners Genusshof with its stop of the same name directly on the Wolferner Landesstraße between Steyr and Linz. There you can buy regional groceries without any staff. Only a credit or debit card is required for entry. Behind the concept are Christoph and Christine Gallner, who took over the Aderlasserhof farm in Niederneukirchen and wanted to expand the existing arable farm and pig breeding farm.
“The Genusshof stop was the biggest investment in innovation,” says the family business. “Der Bio Wanderbäcker” from Leonding, who bakes bread or pastries purely with self-made natural sourdough and completely without yeast or baking powder, is also a sign of regional enjoyment.
“Through this way of preparing baked goods, I can proudly say that people come to me who have not been able to eat normal baked goods for years,” says organic hiking baker David Bonigut. As the name suggests, the baker tours Upper Austria with a small truck. According to their own statements, they stop at the weekly markets four times a week.
These companies applied in the “Innovation Emperor” category. Applications are also possible (several times) in the categories lighthouse, success story and hope for the future. An Entrepreneur/Manager of the Year will also be chosen at the big gala on June 2nd, nominate your boss!
