Large volunteer summit in the Upper Austrian news forum

Almost every second person in Upper Austria is involved voluntarily and free of charge – and thus makes an important contribution to our province.

These volunteers support people in need and the socially disadvantaged, civil protection, nature, art and culture, sport, youth and the maintenance of traditions. In Upper Austria, 2.8 million hours of voluntary work are done every week.

The voluntary rescue and security organizations in Upper Austria are always there when you need them – these are the Red Cross, the Workers’ Samaritan Association, the voluntary fire brigade, mountain rescue, water rescue, cave rescue and civil protection associations. Especially in difficult times like the current one, it shows what voluntary commitment to help and cohesion can achieve.

But what do voluntary rescue and security organizations need – and how can their work be made easier?

Representatives of these organizations will discuss this on Thursday, March 24th, from 6 p.m. in the OÖN forum in the Promenaden Galerien. You can follow the discussion live on March 24 at nachrichten.at.
