Two cars collided head-on at 4 p.m. in Asten. Four people were injured to an unspecified degree.
A 23-year-old from the Perg district was driving in the direction of Ennsdorf, a 47-year-old from the Perg district in the opposite direction. Inside the vehicle were his 53-year-old wife in the front passenger seat and his 78-year-old mother-in-law in the back.
According to eyewitnesses, the 23-year-old should have overtaken a truck and then hit the right guard rail. She lost control of the vehicle and got into oncoming traffic, where she collided head-on with the 47-year-old’s car.
The 23-year-old driver was taken to the rescue helicopter flown to the Wels-Grieskirchen clinic. The 47-year-old and his wife were taken to the UKH Linz after first aid, the 78-year-old to Med Campus 3.
