The crises of the recent past have shown how important the regional supply of food is. Johannes Firschleitner, Thomas Fellinger and Patrick Schoyswohl have set themselves the task of using the good that is so close at hand when they founded Dorfladenbox GmbH. And they have successfully met the desire of many consumers for products from the surrounding area. At the same time, direct marketers were offered an innovative and sustainable sales channel.
The concept works. In addition to the existing locations (six in Upper Austria, one in Germany), four new locations will be added this spring. In addition to Wieselburg, Purgstall an der Erlauf and Regau, a village shop box will be opened in Wilhering on April 2nd.
The Rohrhuber family is responsible for this. She runs a cider tavern and a farm shop in Wilhering, so she already knows what customers need for regional products from local farmers. With the village shop box, they are now creating the opportunity for their customers to make regional purchases flexibly in terms of time. Numerous farmers from the area contribute to the wide range.
In the village shop boxes, products from local direct marketers and small-scale businesses from the vicinity of the site are for sale. The assortment also varies depending on the location and region. The idea behind it is also that consumers no longer have to visit an average of eight farm shops to do a weekly shop, but can buy the farm shop products centrally in one place.
