Distributed profits: AK criticizes companies

During the crisis, some companies “would have preferred to invest their money in subsidiaries instead of in future-proof tangible assets at the site,” said AK President Andreas Stangl at a press conference.

According to the AK value creation barometer, which is based on the balance sheets of 1998 medium-sized and large companies, the average per capita value creation in 2020 was around 95,790 euros. On the other hand, the per capita personnel expenses were 34,585 euros. Stangl sees enough scope for employee concerns in this difference.

The Chamber of Commerce rejected the AK criticism. Medium-sized and large corporations would only make up 17 percent of the corporate landscape, and companies would have invested money in physical investments in the first Corona year with the investment premium.
