The health association emphasizes that the situation is assessed daily. From today’s perspective, the restriction could be gradually withdrawn in the middle of next week. The full surgical capacity should be available again by Easter.
One of the problems identified is the high number of guest patients. As announced by the health association on Twitter, 700 non-Covid patients from other federal states are currently being treated in Vienna, 323 of them are in the AHK. There are also seven corona patients from other federal states, 31 in total in the federal capital.
This in connection with the high number of sick leave means that the situation at the AKH is also very tense. Operations in the normal range have been postponed for months. The health association has been warning of these problems for a long time. The pandemic is not over and the rapid increases in the number of infections are also fueling the situation.
