Internal mail: Reorganization of the OÖN editorial team

Dear readers!

My first 90 days as editor-in-chief are over. It is a pleasure for me to work with such a motivated and passionate team. Now is the time to set a new course for the future. Together with my team from the editor-in-chief, I have decided on the following new line-up and functions in the editorial office from April 2022:

Markus Staudinger switches to politics, where he is the deputy head of department Wolfgang Brown takes over. He returns to his roots and at the same time – in recognition of his achievements as head of the regional department – is appointed editor-in-chief. Also changes from the regional to politics Michael Schäfl.

Head of the regional department Philip Hirsch. He is at his side as a deputy Gerhild Niedoba. At the same time, the new function of the local manager will be installed Christian Kitzmuller will take over. Reinhold Gruber will together with Julia Popovsky design the local edition in Linz.

New online boss becomes Barbara Eidenberger. She is responsible for content management, the interface between online, TV and print, and for leading the online team. Klaus Mittmansgruber is appointed head of the OÖN TV team.

Clemens Thaler takes over the newly created role of editorial manager. It includes the management and operational implementation of projects.

Alexander Zens will switch from politics to business on October 1, where he will work with Sigrid Brandstaetter deputy head of department Dietmar Mascher will take over.

Julia Evers takes over the representation of Barbara Rohrhofer in the department of life and health as well as with Philip Brown the culinary focus.

From May, the OÖN will again be training their next generation of journalists in their own academy, which will be managed Anneliese Edlinger holds.
