238 people in intensive care

There were 3,199 people in the hospital on Saturday, 21 more than were reported yesterday. 238 people were cared for in intensive care units. This number has fallen by two since yesterday, but has increased by 35 patients within a week.

A total of 602,730 rapid PCR and antigen tests were registered in the past 24 hours. Of these, 456,941 were meaningful PCR tests. All in all, there are now 224,982,394 corona tests carried out. The positive rate was 7.3 percent. This 24-hour value is below the average for the past week (an average of 8.7 percent of the PCR tests positive).

69.2 percent with valid vaccination protection

The protection rate (valid vaccination certificate) is highest in Burgenland at 75.3 percent. In Lower Austria 71.4 percent of the population have a valid vaccination protection, in Styria 70 percent. After Vienna (68.4), Tyrol (67.2), Carinthia (66.2), Salzburg (65.4) and Vorarlberg (65.2), Upper Austria brings up the rear with 64.8 percent. The federal state with the highest seven-day incidence on Saturday was Lower Austria with 3,394.1, followed by Upper Austria, Vorarlberg and Styria (3,205.6, 3,204.1 and 3,181 respectively). Then come Burgenland (3,003.5), Vienna (2,914.7), Salzburg (2,864.6), Carinthia (2,573.5) and Tyrol (1,957.5).

Since the beginning of the pandemic there have already been 3,698,511 confirmed corona cases in Austria. 3,252,752 people have recovered since the outbreak of the epidemic, and 43,304 were considered healthy again within the past 24 hours.
