If you don’t have a destination in mind for your holiday this year or are on the booking list, you should drop by the “Urlaub und Camping” trade fair in Wels, which begins on Friday. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a wellness weekend, a city trip or an adventure holiday – there is something for every kind of travel hunger at this public fair presented by the OÖn. Information is also provided about the most beautiful hiking regions and nature and theme parks.
One of the many domestic destinations presented at the fair, which runs up to and including Sunday, is Burgenland, where not only families, bathers and culture enthusiasts can get their money’s worth, but also sporty nature lovers. Around 2,500 kilometers of cycle paths run through the easternmost federal state from Kittsee in northern Burgenland to Kalch in the southernmost tip. Six nature parks and one national park invite you to linger. Wine lovers can visit winemakers.
Happy folk festival
Starting tomorrow, the Welser Volksfest will open its doors again. The traditional start is at 6 p.m. with the test lighting for the numerous rides and the ceremony in the festival tent “Zum Ludwig”, where “Die Draufgänger” and later DJ Schranzi from the Zillertal will perform from 8 p.m. The 3G rule applies to visitors and exhibitors at the exhibition center. Wearing FFP2 masks is recommended.
