In addition to four long-term injuries, the corona virus decimated the squad again, so that VCA sports director Michael Henschke only had nine players left for his line-up in the first semi-final game of the Austrian Volley League against SK Zadruga Aich/Dob. Henschke was forced to plug holes with libero Lauris Ochaya in the outside attack and Aleksandar Veselinovic in the diagonal position. The emergency nails didn’t hold up so badly, in the third set Henschke could even be satisfied with the game of his team, which will probably never be thrown together like this again.
