Blau-Weiss Linz played for a good cause

The stars of the second division football club FC Blau-Weiß Linz were guests in St. Georgen im Attergau – their mission: to let Ukrainian orphans who have fled to Upper Austria from the war forget all their worries, at least for a short moment. In addition to the handover of donations in kind and a donation check – Blue and White partner “freiraum-europa”, a non-profit association from Linz, organized house collections throughout Austria – football was also played. The two Salzburgers Neumayr and Seidl played with 83 children and young people for more than an hour and thus provided a bit of fun and variety in these difficult times.

“The boys and girls had a lot of fun,” says Claudia Dorninger from free space europe. Another highlight: Blue and White invited all Ukrainian children to the next home game and had them picked up by bus. Dorninger: “Your eyes shone, some even thanked you in German.”
