As usual, with music and flags, the party leadership, led by Haimbuchner and federal party chairman Herbert Kickl, moved into the hall filled with a good 500 delegates and guests – in contrast to the ÖVP a week ago, the party congress has a presence setting with 3G control and without Masks chosen.. “Home. Freedom. Reliability” is the motto.
The Third President of the National Council, Norbert Hofer, also came. Haimbuchner welcomed him late, but as a “special guest of honour” and received a remarkably long round of applause from the Upper Austrian delegates. Haimbuchner explicitly thanked the managing director of the Upper Austrian Health Holding, Harald Schöffl, who was partly responsible for “that I’m still here today” – a year ago Haimbuchner was in the hospital with a severe corona infection.
FPÖ in Upper Austria “completely debt-free”
MEP Roman Haider, the finance officer, reported that the FPÖ in Upper Austria “is completely debt-free” and that the state election campaign had been financed entirely from the reserves. The FPÖ Upper Austria finances itself almost entirely from statutory funding and membership fees. “We don’t get millions in donations like the ÖVP, we don’t force anyone to advertise with us, we have no foundations, no swaps,” he emphasized.
In the course of the party conference, speeches by Haimbuchner and Kickl and the election of the chairman and his deputies were also on the agenda.
