The Swans celebrated a 101:90 victory in overtime with an outstanding Daniel Friedrich in the final phase against an extremely tough opponent (40 fouls) and thus cemented second place in the table ahead of their pursuers from Burgenland.
In the qualifying round on Saturday, the Raiffeisen Flyers Wels made everything clear with a 87:68 win over Vienna DC Timberwolves and secured entry into the play-off quarter-finals. The Viennese were already in the lead 27:7 after ten minutes because they had seven successful shots in ten attempts from the line of three alone. But Wels then started again, became stronger defensively and led at the end of the third quarter. In the last round, a 10:0 run within three minutes was decisive. The Wels team’s best pitcher was Tylan Birts with 25 points. “I’m very proud, we’ve now celebrated four clear wins in a row,” said Flyers coach Sebastian Waser.
