During the night on Wednesday, the three of them crashed a construction machine into a railing at an underpass in Pernau at a construction site there. According to the police, they caused considerable damage, not only to the railings but also to the machine itself. The police then secured traces and video surveillance material. But it didn’t have to be, because the girl in the trio filmed the rowdy ride and posted the video of it on her social media story.
Lots of alcohol involved
An anonymous tip from the public about the video was enough for the police to locate the girl. It said it was wandering around town with two friends and had been drinking heavily. As the trio walked past the construction site, the other two got into the construction machine, but were unable to steer it properly and hit the railing with it. When jumping off the machine, one of the two also injured his foot slightly, the girl told the police. After that, the trio left the site.
One of the two boys was confronted with the accusation by the police officers at home, but he refused to testify. The other was arrested during the Wels folk festival because of a disorder and admitted to being involved in the crime. Only after the confrontation with all the evidence, including the video and the confession of his accomplice, did the other 22-year-old confess. Ads to follow.
