The clues increased, so the officials did not give up: After an observation, the police were able to determine that a game was being played in a restaurant in the south of Linz. But the bar was locked and darkened, and despite a clear announcement of a police check, nobody wanted to open it. So the police got a locksmith to help. A little later they entered two darkened rooms, no sign of people. Only two switched off slot machines were discovered.
heard voices
There was also a screen in the reception area showing a broadcast video recording. The officials then realized that there must be another room. They were also suspicious that they heard voices outside from a barred window that belonged to the restaurant. So they went in search of a secret entrance and finally found what they were looking for: A narrow, conspicuous wall shelf turned out to be a concealed sliding door. This led to the third room, where they finally found six people trying their luck at illegal slot machines. “Illegal slot machines are found again and again,” the police said.
Controls are constantly being carried out in accordance with the Gambling Act and reports are being filed. This is also the case in the south of Linz: Two of the people found in the hidden gaming room are suspected of being responsible for this illegal gambling operation. “Several reports will be made by the financial police under the Gambling Act,” the police press office said. Further criminal investigations are also ongoing. Four gaming machines were confiscated on the spot and the company was ordered to close.
