Foreman brought live grenades to the police in a shopping bag

The 33-year-old foreman from a construction company made the dangerous discovery yesterday, Monday, around 6:30 p.m. When the man told the officers at the police station that he probably had a grenade in the car, they instructed him to leave it there and informed a colleague who was familiar with explosives.

Greatest caution required

The Vienna police took this find – and also the way the finder handled it – as an opportunity to draw attention to the correct behavior in such a situation: If you find objects suspected of being explosives or war material, then you should remember where you found it and go to a safe place go distance. The emergency number 133 should then be dialed immediately. And another very important note: Objects suspected of being explosives and war material may not be moved or manipulated.
