Power line on the Krippenstein will be renewed

In the coming months, Netz OÖ, a subsidiary of Energie AG, will renew the power line that was built in 1954 on the Krippenstein. The overhead line not only supplies the cable cars, ski lifts and restaurants on the 2100 meter high mountain, but also a radio transmitter. Renewal is only possible in mid-season. On some days, the power supply also has to be interrupted.

In April, mainly the woodwork to keep the route free and to renovate it takes place. The refurbishment work that follows includes the renewal of the mast foundations, refurbishment of the masts and replacement of the conductor cables.

Due to the difficult terrain, parts of the work will be supported by helicopters. In view of the high alpine environment, wiring the line was checked, but ultimately rejected. Netz OÖ expects costs of 650,000 euros.
