He is said to have choked the 17-year-old in July 2021 and killed her with stabs with scissors. The two were not in a relationship at the time, but the accused was the child’s father. Because the unborn child died in the act, he was also found guilty of abortion, and a briefing was ordered. He couldn’t say why he freaked out like that, suddenly “the switch was flipped”.

Wash your hands and leave the apartment
The 19-year-old and the later victim had known each other for a few years and were also a couple for a short time. An on-off relationship ensued, and eventually the girl became pregnant. The child was “unplanned, but not unwanted,” says public prosecutor Florian Sprajc. The two decided to have the child and take care of it together.
On the day of the crime, he came to her late in the evening and the two watched TV together. Finally, there was another argument about his unemployment and the lack of money. The girl finally ripped off his necklace and “then the switch was flipped,” the suspect described. He choked the pregnant woman unconscious, turned her onto her stomach, and violently stabbed her neck and neck several times with scissors. After some time, the accused washed his hands, got dressed and went home, according to his own statements, he initially suppressed the act.
Psychiatrist certifies sanity
“She was brutally murdered,” the prosecutor was convinced. “It was not a premeditated murder, but an act of passion,” said the defense attorney, who also pointed out that the 19-year-old suffers from ADHD and autism. He was ill, so she did not accuse him of the crime.
The accused appeared uninvolved and answered the questions briefly and without emotion. “What did you think about this act?” asked Judge Gudrun Schmitt. “I can’t describe it,” replied the 19-year-old. The victim was also apparently beaten twice with a frying pan and cut in the front of the neck with a knife. “I can’t say anything about that,” the accused said.
The accused was classified as sane by the psychiatric expert Manfred Walzl. However, Walzl also attested to a higher degree of mental and spiritual abnormality. The essence of this disease is, among other things, the “completely disturbed impulsivity”. High levels of aggression and a tendency to outbursts of anger and violence are also typical. Furthermore, according to Walzl, the accused has a borderline disorder. “From his point of view, the motive for the crime was the tearing off of the necklace, which played an important role for him,” said the expert, who recommended admission to an institution for mentally abnormal criminals.
