State parliament discusses “anti-inflation package”

Irrespective of the differences at the federal level, the SPÖ and the Greens in Upper Austria came together for a joint motion in tomorrow’s state parliament session. A “cost tsunami” is coming to the socially disadvantaged in particular, says SP club boss Michael Lindner, which is why the application is “urgent”.

The six points in it are a combination of SP and Green requirements. Lindner emphasizes the doubling of the heating subsidy to 350 euros as well as a 15 percent increase in housing assistance and an increase in social assistance for children. Green club boss Severin Mayr has contributed a 365-euro climate ticket for all of Upper Austria as well as a limited energy bonus (250 euros) and a fund for the exchange of old electrical appliances for low-income earners. The club bosses of the ÖVP and FPÖ, Christian Dörfel and Herwig Mahr, want to create a “package of demands for the federal government”.
