It’s that time again, the excavators are rolling on the Lamprechtshausener Bundesstraße 156. After the Braunau-Neukirchen section, the section from Handenberg to St. Georgen is now being expanded. The road width is to be widened from 6.20 meters to a total of 7.50 meters. In addition, a footpath and cycle path will be built along the main road. Left turns to the companies are also planned. Preparations for the construction work started in September and should be completed on time by June 30, says Gerhard Sageder, construction and project manager at the State Directorate for Roads and Transport.
Since a total closure is required for the majority of the construction work, a regional diversion concept was developed together with the affected communities and the responsible authority. Access to the affected companies is also possible during the construction work. Coming from Braunau, the route is diverted via the Handenberg local area and Schirkwirtstrasse. There is a different detour from Salzburg, as it could get tight in some places for two trucks that meet. The route is therefore diverted via Schirkwirtstraße and Handenberger Bezirksstraße to Eckbach-Gemeindestraße (at Dicker Transporte).
The renovation of another 200 meter long section of the B156 in the area of the Moosdorf through-road is planned for this year. In addition to the renewal of the road superstructure, a crossing aid and sidewalks will also be rebuilt. In addition, a drainage basin for surface water will be constructed. The construction work is expected to take place in the summer months. The estimated costs are around 630,000 euros including the base fee.
