The Upper Austrian Red Cross was able to support more than 220 war refugees from the Ukraine with numerous volunteers in the town hall of Kirchdorf. The emergency quarters set up there offered the people the possibility of overnight accommodation, basic sanitary care and food.
Now the emergency quarters in the town hall are to be dismantled. The beds are folded up, the town hall appears again in its original function. Now it’s time to “recharge your batteries and pool resources sustainably,” says district rescue commander Alexander Kaineder.
Kirchdorf’s mayor Vera Pramberger (SP) made the town hall available within a short time to help people in need. Within a week, the refugees from the Ukraine could be placed in more than 60 quarters in the area. Numerous private quarters were also offered. “Thanks to the cooperation and help of everyone, we can take responsibility and help people,” says Kaineder.
