Facts and fake news, information and disinformation in the (social) media: “Who can I still trust today?” Ever since the pandemic, more and more people are asking themselves this question. More and more are worried. More and more do not know who to believe.
OÖN political journalist, Warte columnist and native of Braunau, Christoph Kotanko, is coming back to his hometown on Tuesday, April 12 and wants to talk about exactly these topics at a discussion evening in the Chamber of Labor. Because conspiracy theories and fake news not only spread rapidly on the Internet, but are also passed on and fueled by word of mouth. Which sources are reputable seems to be no longer identifiable for many. The “classic” quality media such as the daily newspapers or the ORF are therefore becoming more and more the target of attacks. But how do journalists get their information from quality media? How do you work? Why should I trust them more than You Tube videos of unknown origin? Questions like these are the focus of the ÖGB-Braunau discussion evening. Admission to this event is free, registration at the ÖGB office is requested (07722/63216). Kotanko will also be signing copies of his Kreisky book that evening.
