New crossing at Posthofberg officially opened

After a few weeks of delay, the lift is also in operation during the transition, after the missing parts were delivered and the TÜV test was also passed.

The city of Steyr invested 1.1 million euros in the entire project. Mayor Markus Vogl (SP): “The new transition will be integrated into the entire cycle path concept, as a north-south connection it plays an important role for pedestrian and bicycle traffic, especially in the Tabor and Resthof districts.”

Deputy Mayor Helmut Zöttl, building consultant, also emphasizes the benefits of the new bridge construction: “The crossing is a slim, successful structure that also represents a significant improvement for the residents.”

The entire structure is 100 meters long and about three meters wide. With three and a half square meters, the lift cabin of the elevator system also offers space for bicycles, prams and wheelchairs.
