Today is a good day for America. A day that history will remember. Tune in as the Vice President, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, and I deliver remarks on the Senate’s historic, bipartisan confirmation. https://t.co/sRxo0MpkcX

Jackson received the approval of the Senate in a vote of 53-47 that ended a tough confirmation battle, in which only three Republicans joined Democrats in supporting Biden’s vision of a more diverse high court.
Introducing his first female candidate to the bench, Biden asserted that future generations would be “proud of what we did” when choosing Jackson. “This is going to bring light to so many young women, to so many young black men, to so many minorities, this is real.”said the Democratic president and remarked: “We’re going to look back and see that this is a moment of real change in American history.”

Harris, who presided over the confirmation hearing, also broke barriers such as the first woman and the first African-American and Asian-American to serve as Vice President. “President George Washington once referred to the United States as a great experiment, a nation founded on the then-unproven belief that the people – we the people – could form a more perfect unionHarris said.
“And that belief drove our nation for generations and it’s the one we reaffirmed with the confirmation of the first African-American woman to the United States Supreme Court.”assured.
