The speed of 5880 vehicles was measured. 195 drivers were traveling too fast. Some of them had overdone it enormously: They were flashed with peak values of up to 133 km/h in a 70 zone. The handlebars are displayed.
The police also targeted the tuning scene on Saturday night. A total of 17 of 41 conspicuous cars were checked immediately by experts. Nine of them had to have their license plates removed on the spot because of imminent danger: They were far too loud and had the corresponding technical modifications.
However, four drivers caught the attention of the police because of another offense: they were obviously under the influence of drugs. The medical officer confirmed the officials’ impression. The driver’s license was taken away.
“You don’t play on our streets”
“The results of the priority inspection show once again how important this inspection activity is for our road safety. We will continue to do this consistently, because you don’t play on our streets,” said Günther Steinkellner, responsible for infrastructure, in a broadcast on Saturday.
In total, the authority issued penalties totaling 12,410 euros.
