The royals posted a touching video on social media featuring images of the Prince Consort’s life, accompanied by the words of a poem by the UK’s Poet Laureate, Simon Armitage, set to music.
The poem “The Patriarchs: An Elegy” was first published on the day of Philip’s funeral. Prince Philip died on April 9, 2021 at the age of 99. He had been married to the Queen for more than 70 years. She wanted to spend the anniversary privately. She is believed to be staying at Windsor Castle.
