Dubious locksmith: police are looking for victims

A phone call while driving on the A1 exposed a 29-year-old Serb: The man was stopped by the police on Saturday afternoon because he was on the phone without a hands-free device. But it didn’t stop with this crime.

Not only that the Serb should have left the federal territory by the day before and his German driver’s license was advertised, the officials may have caught the young man as a member of a gang of fraudsters.

Tools, numerous cylinder locks and several blank invoices from a locksmith were found in the 29-year-old’s car. It is likely to be one of those dubious providers who rip off their customers with utopian high prices.

Nationwide there are already several victims who came across the locksmith by searching the internet and called the 0800 number. Despite previously agreed prices, the on-site service staff then suddenly demanded a much higher sum, taking advantage of the victims’ plight.

The man was questioned about the allegations, but he refused to testify. Investigations into possible other victims are ongoing. Those affected can contact API Haid on 059133/4133-200. In principle, the police advises in such cases to inform the police immediately.
