Drug drivers, speeders and car drivers without a license – the speed of 5880 vehicles was measured during a focus check last weekend, and 195 drivers were reported for exceeding the driving speed. The top value was 144 km/h in a 70 range.

In addition, four drivers who had been driving their car under the influence of drugs were stopped. In the course of the focus campaign, a total of 41 cars were carefully checked, and 17 were immediately subjected to a technical check. Defects with imminent danger were found in nine vehicles and the license plates were removed. There were a total of 57 reports of technical defects. Penalties amounting to 12,410 euros were issued.

1.92 per mil: On the night of yesterday, a heavily intoxicated driver came off the road at around 3.45 a.m. in Aspach (Braunau district). The 34-year-old crashed into a telephone pole and a bridge railing and finally landed in a creek bed. Police officers were able to free the man from the car lying in the water. He was hospitalized with undetermined injuries. An alcohol test revealed: 1.92 per thousand.

Drug dealer with baby: In St. Florian near Linz, the police pulled out a drug driver who was traveling with his baby in the car on Saturday morning. The 25-year-old Turk may have consumed cocaine, a rapid drug test was positive. The eleven-month-old son in the baby seat was taken by the police to the mother, who was at work. A medical officer confirmed a little later that the young man was unfit to drive. In Traun, too, a 22-year-old driver was pulled out of traffic last weekend. He could not show a driver’s license because it had already been taken from him in the summer of 2021. He was driving under the influence of drugs at the time.

Curious argument: An 18-year-old man was driving on the B1 in Hörsching in a 70 zone at 144 km/h. When he was stopped, officers noticed symptoms of drug intoxication. The suspicion was then confirmed by a quick test and later by a police doctor. The young man had to hand in his probationary license. The driver stated to the police officers that he wanted to burn out the diesel particle filter of his car by driving fast.

Driven over foot by car: A 59-year-old driver from the Kirchdorf district rolled over the foot of an intoxicated passer-by on the Schmidlerberg in Eberstalzell. The driver initially got out, but refused to exchange data and left the scene of the accident. He later informed the police himself.

Without pink glow: In Steyr, a 32-year-old man showed the police a driver’s license that had been reported as lost. He didn’t have another one because all driver’s authorizations had already been revoked.
