The students of the BRG Steyr donated more than 6000 euros for the Ukraine

A collection campaign by a small group for the Ukraine turned into a wave of helpfulness that spread throughout the BRG Steyr. Artistically designed calls for donations and cake buffets adorned all the walls and screens. The student representatives also started an online call on Instagram for the campaigns.

The 3a, 3b, 5c and 6a students raised 600 euros from their successful bake sale. Of this, 200 euros went to the SOS Children’s Village for Ukraine Aid and 400 euros to Volkshilfe. In addition, the 6abc donation walk brought in boxes of donations in kind, such as medicines, sleeping bags, blankets, flashlights, bandages and more. This was also handed over to Volkshilfe Steyr. In order for this campaign to succeed at all, families provided a car and a minibus. Refugees from Ukraine even helped to put away the numerous boxes.

In addition, students, parents and teachers donated a total of 6134.70 euros. Of this, 3,000 euros went to the Red Cross and 3,134.70 euros to Caritas.
