Marko Arnautovic scored FC Bologna in Serie A with two goals (61st, 76th) for a 2-0 (0-0) home win over Sampdoria Genoa and twelfth place in the table. The 32-year-old football team striker has already scored eleven league goals. Before him, only two Austrians had scored double digits in Italy’s top division within a season: Engelbert König for Lazio Rome (1946/47) and Ernst Ocwirk for Sampdoria (1956/57). Both scored 12 goals.
Arnautovic is currently number 11 in Serie A goalscoring. At the top (not for the first time) is Italy’s striker Ciro Immobile, who has saved 24 goals for Lazio. He is followed by Dusan Vlahovic (Fiorentina/Juventus) with 22 goals, third is Giovanni Simeone (Hellas Verona/16), the son of Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone.
