The Bolivian government rejects Evo Morales’ accusation of working with the DEA

“There is no type of coordination with the DEA; in some cases, in the operations to fight drug trafficking, it is coordinated specifically with the police of Brazil, Peru, Chile and all those around our borders” explained del Castillo, according to the Bolivian newspaper ‘La Razón’.

We have never coordinated with the United States, much less with the DEA agency“, reiterated the Minister of Government on the theory put forward by Evo Morales about “a national and international campaign” to “discredit” the social and peasant leaders of Cochabamba.

“I don’t know if that, the DEA, within a ministry or some ministries, tries to implicate and demonize the peasant movement of the Cochabamba tropics,” Evo Morales had said on Sunday in an interview on local radio.

An argument that he ratified shortly after that same day through his Twitter profile, from where he claimed to be “convinced” that “there is a national and international campaign to demonize and discredit the Cochabamba tropics,” as well as leaders such as Andrónico Rodríguez or Leonardo Loza. “We do not know if it is due to the action of the DEA or coup plotters infiltrated in our government who are still operating“, wrote.
