First division club Austria Wien and its two-man team playing in the 2nd division as well as the two other second division clubs FC Wacker Innsbruck and St. Pölten did not receive a license or approval from the responsible Senate 5 in the first instance. The league announced this on Wednesday.
If Austria still gets the license that is currently refused for financial and legal reasons, they will have to start the coming season with a deduction of four points. The league imposed this sanction together with a 20,000 euro fine for a delay in the publication of the audited annual financial statements. With the exception of Austria, all eleven other Bundesliga clubs received the Oberhaus “Pickerl” in the first instance. This also applies to Austria Lustenau and FAC Vienna, as well as GAK, who are looking to get promoted.
The clubs concerned have eight days to submit new documents and appeal to the protest committee, which will issue a verdict by April 27 at the latest. A complaint can then be filed with the Permanent Neutral Court of Arbitration within eight days. However, new evidence is no longer admissible. Any necessary decision will then be made due to the UEFA deadline of May 31st.
