The migrants got off the bus one by one, and Texas officials cut off their wristbands before they were released.

“To help local officials, because communities are being overwhelmed by hordes of illegal immigrants that the Biden administration is letting in, Texas is providing charter buses for these illegal immigrants who have been dropped off in Washington DC,” Abbott said.

“We are sending them to the capital of the United States, where the Biden administration will be able to more immediately address the needs of the people they are allowing to cross our border,” he added, the New York Post reported.

On April 4, the government of the American president Joe Biden announced that in May it will rescind the measure that allows the immediate expulsion of migrants, known as Title 42which is expected to increase the migratory flow on the border with Mexico.

Two days later Abbott announced “unprecedented actions to ensure the security of the state and country.” These measures include “improving” the inspection of vehicles at points of entry and the sending of buses with illegal immigrants to Washington.

The White House criticized Governor Abbott on Wednesday for increasing the inspection of trucks on the border with Mexico.

“Governor Abbott’s unnecessary and redundant inspections of trucks transiting ports of entry between Texas and Mexico are causing significant disruptions to the food and automobile supply chains,” White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said in a statement. .
