The good news first: Community doctor Birgit Zechmeister has now decided not to leave Reichraming after all and to remain in her practice in the premises provided by the community for the time being. The “Kronen Zeitung” reported on Tuesday about an agreement with the doctor, the mayor Michael Schwarzlmuller (SP) announced with satisfaction, who stood in front of the photographer with a typical Gamsbart hat. The farmer and functionary of the SP farmers, who drives tourists to the Kalkalpen National Park with his team of horses, showed his human nature, occasionally short-tempered, but also immediately forgiving.
There is still a lack of a final happy ending after the argument with the country doctor, which was about the fact that the building in which the surgery is rented had defects. A few details are still open after the community leaders Oliver Brandner (VP) and Ewald Kupfinger (SP) were able to agree broadly in a conversation with the country doctor. Zechmeister then declared that he wanted to stay in Reichraming. Schwarzlmüller probably didn’t contribute much to the agreement, which now has to be written down in a contract, and he couldn’t do it either: After an emergency motion from the VP, the municipal council decided at the end of March by a majority that negotiators should be appointed with the country doctor, “Except for the following people Mayor Michael Schwarzlmüller and Deputy Mayor Gabriele Schwaiger”. For Schwarzlmüller “the matter is cleared up, our doctor stays”. And he rumbles: “No one should bring turbulence back in there!”
