The 29-year-old was stopped on Eferdingerstrasse on Friday evening because he was driving too fast. He was unable to produce a driver’s license when he was checked. First he presented the officials with a picture of an Austrian driver’s license and said he had a Turkish one. He couldn’t show the taxi driver’s ID either. The man and the taxi company will be reported, the police said on Saturday afternoon.
Also without a driver’s license and too fast was a 23-year-old Somali on the early Saturday morning in Linz. Police officers stopped him on Wiener Strasse because he was driving at 50 km/h instead of the permitted 30 km/h.
The young man said he forgot his driver’s license and instead showed officers a photo of a driver’s license on his phone. As it turned out, the document did not match the handlebar.
The 23-year-old had already had his driver’s license taken away by the police. The car belonged to the Somali’s mother, who was unaware that her son had started it. The man will be reported to the authorities, according to the police.
