LEADER region Perg-Strudengau positioned itself for upcoming tasks

The LEADER region Perg-Strudengau is well positioned for the coming years. This association of 24 communities in the district of Perg coordinates measures for regional development with funding from the European Union. On Tuesday, at the general assembly in the St. Nikola community center, the past funding period was looked back on: 76 projects with an investment sum of 5.6 million euros and a funding sum of 3 million euros have been implemented since 2014. In the new election of chairman, board, subject group leader and project selection committee led by LAbg Mayor Anton Froschauer, NR-Abg. Mayor Nikolaus Prinz confirmed as chairman with 100 percent of the votes. His deputies are Anton Aichinger from Mitterkirchen and Vzbgm. Markus Brandstetter from Bad Kreuzen.

Managing Director Manfred Hinterdorfer then spoke about the local development strategy 2023-2029. In workshops with the population, focal points such as the further development as a movement region, the strengthening of agricultural cooperation, climate protection projects, the upgrading of old buildings and targeted qualification offers for (agriculture) business and tourism were defined.

As the highlight of the evening, three people were awarded the LEADER honorary office prize: Leopold Fasching (St. Nikola club room), Fritz Hinterholzer (Aiserbühne Schwertberg) and Josef Strasser (Klingenberg castle ruins). According to chairman Nikolaus Prinz, these people have shown a particularly high level of commitment in the implementation of LEADER projects: “With the LEADER honorary office award, we would like to thank you for this valuable voluntary work”.
