The two Bosnians, aged 24 and 26, had repeatedly deceived the checkout staff in a shop in Steyr. They pasted the price tags of cheap items onto high-priced goods, thereby paying a lower price. The two then sold part of their loot under aliases at much higher prices on an online portal. The shop in Steyr suffered damage of almost 2000 euros.
During a voluntary inspection, police officers seized eight other items – including jackets, trousers and a backpack – at the brothers’ home address. The men made a full confession. They stated that they wanted to buy the branded goods cheaply for their own use, selling them via the online portal was of secondary importance. Reports to the public prosecutor’s office will be made, the police said on Thursday.
