Will Upper Austria’s football clubs decide the title fight in the second division? Both Blau-Weiss Linz (May 6th), FC Juniors Oberösterreich (May 22nd) andVorwarts Steyr are still playing against the second FAC Vienna in the last five rounds of the season. Coach Daniel Madlener’s team is starting today.
The Viennese are the big surprise of the season: In the long-distance duel with Austria Lustenau for promotion to the Bundesliga, the Floridsdorfers are currently one point behind the Vorarlbergers. FAC’s greatest strength: With only 15 goals conceded, coach Mitja Mörec’s team has the best defense in the league. In addition, FAC has been unbeaten in 15 games – winning 13 of them. Forward coach Daniel Madlener is not influenced by this: “Our goal is to beat FAC.”
Pasic stays for the long term
From a sporting point of view, Steyr looks very good with staying up in the league – off the pitch, plans for the coming season are being pushed ahead: midfield stabilizer Alem Pasic has extended his contract until 2024.
